Hello San Jose! Capoeira Irmandade and The Get Down are hosting a beginners workshop for Capoeira. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, music, and self-expression. It shares many movements with breakdancing.

When: Sunday, June 25
Time: 4:30 - 6:30pm
Cost: $20
Tickets at the door.

The workshop will be taught by Capoeira Professor Bochecha (Dan Young), who has 16 years experience in training and teaching capoeira around the world.

No experience in martial arts or dance is required; all levels are encouraged to come! The workshops will cover all the basic movements of capoeira, as well as more advanced movements for those who have experience in martial arts, breakdancing, etc.

Proceeds go to making our Batizado (annual belt ceremony/capoeira festival) possible. We will start at 4:30, but it wouldn't hurt to get there a little early to warm-up and stretch. Bring water and loose pants, and expect to sweat!
